Avon Advice: Need to get out gracefully. I was wrong! Can't be with all these women. HELP!?

Last week, a woman who just happens to be a close friend of my BOSS, recruited me to sell Avon So, looking for a way to earn money part-time, I signed up. After signing up, I was given a bunch of samples. They bombed on my skin, causing major welts and breakouts. In doing further research, I found that aside from their anti-aging products, their makeup, etc. do not have the best reputation. That is ONE thing that makes me ashamed to sell Avon.

The 2nd drawback is the ordering process on their web site. It is highly convoluted, and I do not want to embarrass myself in front of my list of friends by sending them there to buy. Avon will not allow anyone to sell online except on the Avon site. The 3rd drawback is that unless I make a certain profit on the web site, and I ONLY want to sell on the web, I will not receive money-just credit for more Avon product.

Also, most of the people I know are not Avon types. I know I should have researched all of this before. Help!!!Avon Advice: Need to get out gracefully. I was wrong! Can't be with all these women. HELP!?
that is a difficult situation! - as for the recruiter being best friend with you boss.

I would consider two ways out:

The honest way: One- use the cream a little bit more often, have some more breakouts. Go that way with your recruiter and tell her, that it hasn't work for you and you can't sell something that you are not convinced of. Be super nice, and I'm sorry, and bla bla

Or: Don't do anything for 1 month, so they might question you or else. You just tell them that you were so busy with your job and then you decided to study xyz after work (or tutor you niece, bla bla) and simply don't find the time at all to sell something. You are sorry that you took the responsibility without evaluating how much time it would take, and you don't want to let anybody down, so you better leave....

Good luck, to get out of this one. I actually tried Avon once, and I wasn't happy at all- my face went all irritated. - You actually should use friend to write you that kind of comment as ';proof'; if you take option one :-)Avon Advice: Need to get out gracefully. OK, so you are unsure about leaving, you shouldn't be since it is your decision to go through or not Simply indicate that you miscalculated your free time and you would prefer not to start something that you would not be able follow through on.
tell them you're allergic to their products and do not want to sell them. period - no other explanation needed
just explain it's not for you.

thanks for the offer but you just are not interested.

this should not have ANY effect on your job or relationship with your boss.

they gave you ';samples'; you can give them back if they want them.
my mother in law sells avon, she collects everyones orders, give the free samples, catalogs, then once or twice amonth she takes everyones orders, imputs them and recieves 50% of the profit. i happen to like avon, if its not for you than tell your friend you gave it a shot but u dont hve time to committ to selling the product.
Hi.

Where are you?

I am in the UK and have just signed up to become a sales leader.

My area manager said that if I did not want to carry on with Avon, at any time, You need to just let them know. She said I could just text her and I would be removed. (Sounds a bit sinister)

Just talk to whoever signed you up and say it is not for you. They can't say or do anything because you don't work for them as it is a self employed job!

Good luck and I hope you find something that suits you,

Cathy x
