First of all stop looking at what others are doing...Focus on yourself like you are somewhat doing now...Then start going to single functions or try dating sites with a UP TO DATE PHOTO! And go from there!
Alot of the time it's due to the fact of being in the wrong places...or in the right place at the wrong time. A good thing to do is meet people online. This gives you and someone else a chance to really get to know eachother with a judgement of personality rather than looks.

If it's shy, come on you're running out of time(not saying ur old and love can happen at any moment) but lets get real with outselves. Maybe your setting your standards to high or you are to picky? Your on a hole different level. You need experience first you cant just rush to find someone cause no one will come. Usually if its the right person for you you will automaticaly do the right things at the right time but you need experenice. Start goin on dates or something and try it.
